Senior Accountant

About the role

BBYO is seeking a passionate Senior Accountant to lead month‑end close, reconcile bank, investment and balance‑sheet accounts, and produce reliable financial statements that support programs for Jewish teens.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the month‑end close by preparing and reviewing journal entries, accruals and supporting schedules.
• Complete bank, investment and balance‑sheet reconciliations, researching and resolving variances.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and maintain subsidiary ledgers.
• Produce standard and ad‑hoc reports for Finance leadership and program teams.
• Support non‑finance staff with expense, coding, budgeting questions and systems such as RAMP and Sage.
• Partner with the Controller on special projects, process improvements and audit preparation.

Required profile

• 4–6 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Ability to work independently, multitask in a fast‑paced environment and communicate clearly.
• Unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office 365.
• Experience with accounting databases; RAMP and Sage preferred.
