Senior Accountant

About the role

We are a rapidly growing CPA practice seeking a full‑time Senior Accountant to join our tax team. The successful candidate will handle medium‑to‑high complexity tax returns for individuals and small businesses while reviewing lower‑complexity filings.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare medium to complex tax returns for individuals and small businesses (trusts a plus).
• Prepare ancillary filings such as 1099s, payroll, sales tax, and annual filing fees.
• Provide advanced bookkeeping services for small‑business clients.
• Conduct tax planning to identify savings and ongoing opportunities.
• Research complex tax issues and develop resolutions.
• Utilize data analytics and problem‑solving techniques.
• Communicate with clients and coordinate with their other advisors.

Required profile

• 4‑6 years of public accounting experience in taxation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required); Master’s in Taxation (a plus).
• CPA or EA designation preferred.
• Strong ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple workstreams.
• Independent worker who also collaborates well with a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience using QuickBooks (online and desktop).
• Adobe Acrobat Pro.
• CFS Payroll.
• BNA tax research tools.
• AI‑driven technology platforms.
• Familiarity with CCH Axcess Tax or ProFx.
