Senior Accountant - General Accounting

About the role

The Senior Accountant will lead complex accounting activities for Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in monthly, quarterly and annual close processes.
• Design, implement and maintain internal controls for financial systems.
• Prepare and review account reconciliations, cost reports, billings, bank reconciliations and other financial statements.
• Provide information and schedules to auditors and management as needed.
• Recommend and execute corrective actions for policy, control or accounting deviations.
• Prepare federal, state and other regulatory reports ensuring compliance.
• Support compliance with Joint Commission requirements and hospital policies.

Required profile

• Senior‑level accounting experience with general ledger management.
• Ability to analyze complex financial data and exercise sound judgment.
• Experience guiding lower‑level staff and collaborating across departments.
• Commitment to hospital standards, patient safety and ethical conduct.
