Senior Accountant - Event Accounting

About the role

Legends & ASM Global is hiring a Senior Accountant to work on site at Capital One Hall in Tysons, Virginia. The role covers event accounting, payroll, cash handling, reconciliations and general ledger maintenance, with supervisory responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and contribute to event accounting, including settlements, event costs, flash reports and journal entries
• Record payroll entries to the general ledger, including biweekly payroll and monthly accruals
• Record daily cash receipts to the general ledger and reconcile cash receipts, cash journals and A/R cash receipts
• Perform bank and balance sheet account reconciliations
• Maintain general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, accounts payable, revenue distribution, operating expenses and insurance records
• Verify general ledger coding accuracy and prepare information for financial statements and reports
• Supervise team members in line with company policies and applicable laws

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• At least 3 years of experience
• Experience preparing financial statements, journal entries and analyzing account balances
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills
• Ability to handle highly confidential information
• CPA preferred

Required skills

• Intermediate Excel, including INDEX/MATCH, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS and Pivot Tables
• Building and understanding reconciliations and accounting schedules from raw data
• Previous live event or F&B accounting experience highly preferred
• Previous experience with Sage and Bill.com highly preferred
