Senior Account Manager, Property & Casualty

About the role

Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA) is hiring a Senior Account Manager for its Business Insurance Commercial Lines team in Portland, Oregon. You will use your client servicing skills to maintain and grow your own book of accounts while delivering professional insurance services, working with producers, underwriters and other departments.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and expand client relationships within your assigned book of accounts
• Provide coverage analysis and risk management recommendations, complete applications and prepare submissions
• Negotiate coverage and pricing with carriers and prepare proposals according to agency standards
• Resolve billing issues, make policy changes and answer coverage questions promptly
• Prepare exposure and premium comparisons, renewal reviews and renewal proposals
• Provide leadership and mentoring to colleagues and take part in continuing education to keep your P&C license active

Required profile

• Active Property & Casualty license
• 5+ years of relevant insurance experience, at least 3 in property and casualty, preferably in a brokerage agency
• Experience managing accounts through the client life cycle, including renewals
• Solid coverage, underwriting and risk management knowledge
• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business Administration or a related field (a plus)

• Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills
• High proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and agency management systems
• Time management and organization; ability to handle multiple priorities
