Account Manager, Business Insurance

About the role

Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA) is hiring a Commercial Lines Account Manager for its Business Insurance team in Portland. You will use your client servicing skills to manage your own book of accounts and provide professional insurance services by working with producers, underwriters and other departments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide coverage analysis and risk management recommendations to clients
• Complete applications, prepare submissions and negotiate coverage and pricing with carriers
• Prepare proposals according to agency standards
• Resolve billing issues, make policy changes and answer coverage questions promptly
• Prepare exposure and premium comparisons, renewal reviews and renewal proposals
• Take part in continuing education to maintain a P&C license and stay current with regulations

Required profile

• Active Property & Casualty license
• Experience managing assigned accounts through the client life cycle, including renewals
• Solid knowledge of coverage, underwriting and risk management
• Strong oral and written communication, presentation and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and organize your time effectively
• Plus: Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business Administration or a related field, insurance designations, experience with Applied Epic

Required skills

• High proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Agency management systems and web browser software
