Security Supervisor

About the role

The Loews Miami Beach Hotel is looking for a confident, proactive Security Supervisor to lead its security team and create a safe, secure and welcoming environment for guests and team members. The hotel is an oceanfront resort in South Beach with 790 guestrooms, direct beach access, a pool deck, Sea Spa, six restaurants and lounges and extensive meeting space.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily security operations and monitor surveillance systems, conducting regular property inspections
• Lead, train and mentor security team members, including the Security Officer Team
• Respond promptly to security incidents, emergencies and guest concerns, and investigate incidents with detailed reports for management
• Enforce security protocols and collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency response teams
• Run security drills and training sessions, and keep accurate incident records
• Help develop a risk management strategy for the resort and coordinate with other departments on safety issues
• Provide excellent customer service and attend mandatory training and meetings; varying schedules may be required

Required profile

• Associate's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management or a related field
• At least 3 years of experience in security management or a related role
• Proven ability to lead and manage a team
• Experience in hospitality or resort security, and familiarity with surveillance systems
• Proficiency in conflict resolution and crisis management, and previous work with law enforcement
• Multilingual abilities are an advantage

Required skills

• Certification in security management, such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP)
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and emergency response procedures
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
