Security Officer

About the role

The Loews Miami Beach Hotel, a reimagined oceanfront resort in South Beach, is looking for a vigilant and proactive Security Officer. The officer acts as the cornerstone of safety and peace of mind, patrolling the property, responding to challenges and keeping guests, team members and the hotel secure.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and control access to team member entrances
• Carry out regular patrols to identify and address safety hazards
• Respond to emergencies in line with Emergency Response Procedures
• Maintain visitor access and package removal logs, and inspect packages entering and leaving the premises
• Document security incidents and enforce hotel policies and regulations
• Interact professionally with guests and monitor CCTV systems, reporting suspicious activity
• Facilitate communication with management on safety maintenance issues and manage lost and found items
• Support health and safety training and attend mandatory training and meetings

Required profile

• Previous hotel security or related experience (1-3 years preferred)
• High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in criminal justice, security management or a related field preferred
• Ability to stay calm and make sound decisions under pressure
• Ability to drive departmental vehicles, including electric transport vehicles
• Flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, and possible off-site training or limited local travel
• Veterans and military spouses encouraged to apply

Required skills

• Basic first-aid certification or ability to administer first aid preferred
• Knowledge of security systems, safety regulations and emergency response protocols preferred
• Experience with CCTV and security technology preferred
• Report writing and documentation skills; customer service or hospitality experience preferred
• Background in law enforcement or military service is a plus
