Security Officer Screening Technician

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring a Security Officer Screening Technician in West Palm Beach, Florida. Working at a government location, the screener helps create a welcoming and secure environment by screening visitors and belongings, monitoring access points and reporting security concerns while providing professional customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff and the public while carrying out screening procedures, site-specific policies and emergency response activities.
• Screen individuals and belongings with assigned equipment and report prohibited items, suspicious activity and policy violations.
• Control access to designated areas by verifying identification, processing visitors and keeping accurate records.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly, following escalation and notification procedures.
• Carry out regular and random patrols of screening areas, entry points and the surrounding perimeter.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military and/or security experience, or a college degree.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Subject to a background investigation and a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Preferred qualifications

• Comfort using a computer or tablet.
• A guard card or license.
• X-ray screening experience.
• CPR certification.
