Security Officer - Gate Operations (Residential Access Control)

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring a Security Officer for Gate Operations in Burnsville, NC. As a Residential Access Control Officer, you will monitor entry points, verify authorized access and assist residents, guests and vendors so that clients across a range of industries, including residential, feel safe and welcome. The position is full time.

Key responsibilities

• Serve residents, visitors, vendors and contractors by following site-specific access-control procedures, property policies and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify visitor and contractor authorization, keep access logs and report access concerns to site contacts.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, resident concerns and critical situations.
• Carry out regular and random patrols of common areas, entrances, parking areas and the perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Write clear activity reports, incident documentation and shift handoff information according to site procedures.

Required profile

• At least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation and drug screening as conditions of employment; licensing may be required depending on state and local law.
• A valid driver's license is required only for driving positions.
