About the role
The University Police Department at Texas A&M University seeks a Security Officer to protect students, faculty, staff, and campus property. The role involves visible patrols, crime reporting, and enforcement of parking and traffic regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Patrol designated campus areas to prevent, discover, and deter criminal activity.
- Report incidents requiring police action to communications or officers directly.
- Document irregularities, emergencies, or suspicious activity with detailed written reports.
- Issue parking citations, direct traffic flow, and assist with vehicle parking.
- Apply vehicle immobilization procedures when necessary.
Required profile
- Ability to conduct regular patrols and maintain a visible security presence.
- Strong observational skills to identify and report suspicious behavior.
- Capability to write clear, detailed incident reports.
- Experience handling parking enforcement and traffic direction.
