Security Guard - Flex Driver Patrol Coverage

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring a Security Guard Flex Driver for patrol coverage in Riverside, California. The role works 30-40 hours per week with a mix of manager-assigned shifts and self-chosen shifts through a claim-a-shift program; shifts, days, locations and assignments change regularly, and irregular shifts with little advance notice are common.

Key responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in case of fire or unauthorized persons
• Warn violators of rules such as loitering, smoking or carrying forbidden articles
• Permit authorized persons to enter, monitor entrances and exits, and observe departing personnel to prevent theft
• Investigate and report accidents, incidents and suspicious activity, keeping written logs as required
• Aid customers, employees and visitors courteously and make emergency notifications as needed

Required profile

• At least one year of security-related experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Available to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights and weekends, and for last-minute scheduling
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license (required for driving positions)
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles, 21+ for armed roles
• Background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment; licensing may be required by state or local law
