Seasonal Security Officer

About the role

The Greenbrier Hotel in White Sulphur Springs is hiring a seasonal Security Officer within its Security department. The role covers guest interaction, access control, incident response and safety, with shifts from 7:00am-3:00pm, 3:00pm-11:00pm and 11:00pm-7:00am.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to fire emergencies as a trained firefighter and to other emergencies, including confined-space rescue and first-aid calls.
• Handle security calls, incidents and events, and stand access-point posts directing traffic.
• Monitor CCTV, check entering and exiting guests and staff against rules, and activate automated gate access controls.
• Investigate incidents, write clear reports and enforce company policies while ensuring guest and employee safety.
• Conduct foot and vehicle fire-watch patrols and drive the department's patrol vehicle and fire apparatus.
• Provide customer service and hospitality, and work independently with minimal supervision.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
• Firefighter, EMS, law enforcement, military or security service experience preferred.
• Ability to handle stressful situations and to communicate clearly in English by radio, telephone and in writing.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, climb, bend and lift up to 10 lbs, with outdoor work in varying temperatures.

Required skills

• Current WV Firefighter Level 1 or higher certification, with confined-space entry and rescue certification.
• Basic First Aid, CPR and EMT-level certification (e.g., American Red Cross).
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain ALA Certified Lodging Security Officer certification or an equivalent.
• Word processing and spreadsheet (Excel) skills at beginner level.
