Seasonal Registered Nurse, Progressive Care Unit (Nights)

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a seasonal registered nurse for its Progressive Care Unit in Dade City, Florida, working nights on a PRN schedule of 36 hours per week. The position pays $55 per hour, with a stated pay range of $37.76 to $70.23.

Key responsibilities

• Set measurable short- and long-range goals for patients and develop and implement individualized plans of care, updating them as needed
• Complete follow-up assessments and evaluate and modify plans of care
• Apply knowledge of diagnoses, procedures, medications, complications and equipment used on the unit
• Follow infection prevention precautions and medication safety policies, and adhere to regulatory standards
• Communicate with patients, families and visitors, including hourly rounding, and with the interdisciplinary team with thorough hand-offs
• Manage staff assignments, patient flow and patient experience, and carry out unit-specific audits and checklists
• Assess and interpret diagnostic data such as lab results and monitoring data, and perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; NRP preferred
• Associate's degree in nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred
• 2+ years of relevant clinical nurse experience preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, spoken and written

Required skills

• EKG interpretation (depending on patient population)
• Familiarity with electronic medical records, Cerner preferred
• Organizational, multi-tasking and prioritization skills
• Problem-solving, critical thinking and abstract reasoning
