Part-Time Nuclear Medicine Technologist

About the role

AdventHealth in Dade City, Florida, is hiring a part-time Nuclear Medicine Technologist. The technologist performs nuclear medicine procedures, runs quality control checks on equipment and coordinates with radiologists to ensure safe, accurate imaging and continuity of patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure equipment meets quality control requirements and perform patient examinations with age-specific care, evaluating image quality
• Collaborate with radiologists and other providers on appropriate imaging and patient care continuity
• Perform nuclear medicine procedures with camera acquisition and computer processing, and help train coworkers and students
• Keep the room ready, document work orders for broken equipment and enter quality control, radionuclide administration and charge data into the Nuclear Medicine Information System and Order Communication System
• Confirm patient identity and exam accuracy, check physician requests against clinical indicators, and release images only after confirming proper assignment
• Prepare radionuclides, explain procedures to patients and administer them aseptically following universal BSI principles

Required profile

• Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist (ARRT) or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT)
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
• Conversational reading, writing and speaking of English; additional languages preferred
• Associate degree preferred, Bachelor's degree preferred
• Pay range: $31.86 - $59.27

Required skills

• Knowledge of scintigraphic equipment, acquisition computers, hot lab equipment and nuclear medicine procedures
• Ability to learn and use radiology software such as Cerner, RadWorks and PACS
• Follow radiation safety principles (time, distance, shielding) to keep exposure ALARA
• Basic EKG knowledge and basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
