Seasonal Registered Nurse, Progressive Care Unit

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a seasonal PRN Registered Nurse for its Progressive Care Unit in Dade City, Florida. The schedule is 36 hours per week on day shifts, with pay of $55 per hour (pay range $37.76-$70.23). The nurse follows strict infection prevention precautions and adheres to medication safety policies.

Key responsibilities

• Set measurable short- and long-range goals for patients and develop and implement individualized plans of care, updating them as needed
• Complete follow-up assessments and communicate with patients, families and visitors, including hourly rounding
• Communicate thoroughly with the interdisciplinary team and complete hand-offs
• Manage staff assignments, patient flow, patient experience and patient care, including conflict resolution, rounding and unit audits/checklists
• Assess and interpret diagnostic data such as lab results and monitoring data, and perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Associate's degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor's degree preferred
• 2+ years of relevant clinical nurse experience preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, spoken and written
• Additional licensure or certification may apply depending on the unit or state

Required skills

• Nursing care methods and procedures, organizational and multi-tasking skills
• EKG (based on patient population)
• Familiarity with electronic medical records, Cerner preferred
• Problem-solving, critical thinking and prioritization
