Sanitation Supervisor

About the role

Saputo, a top 10 global dairy processor, is hiring a Sanitation Supervisor in Las Cruces. The role covers inspection, supervision of sanitation and pest control, and support of food safety systems such as HACCP and FSMA within the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect products and equipment for conformity with federal and state sanitation laws and plant standards.
• Supervise and instruct production team members in sanitary and pest-control procedures.
• Lead cleaning of equipment and work areas according to the COP/CIP/SIP schedules, and implement and revise plant master sanitation schedules.
• Inspect plant premises for unsanitary practices, report variances and communicate corrective action plans.
• Monitor HACCP as outlined in the IDFA product safety system and audit and retain sanitation and pest control records.
• Ensure pest control is effective and meet internal and external requirements.
• Develop reports on inspections, areas of concern and corrective actions, and coordinate with production so COP/CIP and SIP activities are planned and complete.
• Support internal and external audits, develop sanitation-related SOPs, monitor compliance with GMPs and participate in the Plant HACCP team.
• Manage the Environmental Monitoring Program (scheduled swabs) and the Drain Cleaning Program, and work with the chemical supplier on cleaning agents.
• Support Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) programs and activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a science-based area (e.g., Microbiology, Food Science, Dairy Science) preferred, or at least 2 years of high-level plant-based laboratory experience.
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices and experience leading and following food quality and safety policies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexible hours including weekends.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and computer-based applications.
• SAP experience preferred.
• Leadership, organization, attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks.
