Cheese Packing Operator

About the role

Saputo, a top 10 global dairy processor, is hiring a Cheese Packing Operator in Las Cruces. The operator works in a fast-paced environment following standard operating procedures, monitoring the pasteurization process and performing equipment and cleaning tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Stage, weigh and prepare products in line with SOPs
• Monitor the pasteurization process, record data and keep accurate charts in line with company, state and federal regulations
• Perform required analytical testing and report product deviations to the department supervisor
• Follow allergen protocols and perform product reclaim and rework according to guidelines
• Operate tanks, pumps and equipment, and perform routine adjustments
• Clean and document equipment, including CIP/SIP operations on tanks, lines and equipment
• Complete records, system data entry and documentation accurately
• Perform department environmental controls and safely operate a lift truck
• Follow the Saputo Code of Ethics, company values and workplace climate policy, and work as a team

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
• At least two years of work experience in food manufacturing; dairy experience preferred
• Lift truck certification or ability to obtain one (Powered Industrial Truck)
• Good attendance is a must

Required skills

• Strong math skills
• Proficiency with computers, software and data entry; SAP is a plus
• Ability to operate equipment controls, touch panels and mechanical operations
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
• Regularly lifts and moves up to 50 lbs
