Sander, Body Mill

About the role

Fender Musical Instruments Corporation is looking for a Sander to join its team in Corona, CA. The Sander works exclusively in the sanding pre/post paint production process, sanding and semi-finishing electric guitar bodies. The work is done in an up/down and counter-clockwise motion, and the incumbent also handles quality control, minor corrections and cleanup of the immediate work area.

Key responsibilities

• Sand electric guitar and bass bodies with various sandpaper grades in circular and up/down motions
• Identify and correct minor surface irregularities using glue, filler and sanding techniques
• Follow detailed sanding procedures to meet quality finish standards
• Inspect incoming and outgoing products for flaws or defects
• Coordinate with team members to keep the workflow smooth
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation in line with safety and quality standards
• Meet hourly production targets while ensuring quality control
• Give supervisors feedback on process improvements or material issues
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 1-2 years of experience in sanding, woodworking, carpentry or a related manufacturing field preferred
• Experience in a production environment or finishing process strongly preferred
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and safety procedures
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship
• Good verbal and written communication skills
