Sales Development Representative – Independent Retail

About the role

This full‑time sales development position rotates across multiple territories, focusing on maximizing sales of supplier brands to the trade. The role supports the Merchandising Department during peak periods and may involve covering open territories as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Visit accounts on established routes, delivering sales presentations, product displays, and promotions.
• Maintain product inventory, restock shelves where permitted, and ensure brand visibility with point‑of‑sale materials.
• Collect payments, process credits/returns, and manage receivables.
• Educate account staff through training seminars on brand portfolios.
• Track account buying patterns, complete required surveys, and meet distribution, volume, and activity targets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years of sales experience.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to hold a Solicitor’s Permit is a plus.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience using presentation software.
