About the role
The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Safety & Wellness Specialist to join its Phoenix office. In this client‑focused position you will work closely with Humanitarian Reception coordinators and casework staff to assess needs, provide trauma‑informed support, and connect refugees and other vulnerable individuals to community resources.
Key responsibilities
- Support enrollment of clients based on arrival patterns and maintain accurate case files.
- Enter program data and ensure compliance with IRC policies.
- Identify participants for the DEPTH Research Project, coordinate outreach, conduct surveys and interviews, and manage participant care.
- Deliver trauma‑informed, client‑centered services, including assessments, crisis support, and referrals.
- Collaborate with the VOCA team to provide client support and develop referral plans.
- Participate in team meetings, staff development activities, and other office duties as assigned.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field (preferred) or comparable work experience.
- Minimum 2 years of related experience, including at least 1 year working with asylum seekers, victims of crime, or other vulnerable populations.
- Strong knowledge of asylum issues, relevant laws, and victim‑centered service approaches.
