Safety Specialist - Electrical Construction

About the role

GreenArrow partners its infrastructure service companies (Midwestern Electric, Kuharchik Construction, Bear Electrical Solutions, Hinson Electric and Earthbound Electric) to deliver electrical infrastructure services such as traffic signals, streetlighting and intelligent transportation systems. As a Safety Coordinator/Specialist, you will partner with the VP of Safety to carry out company safety policies and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, working closely with Operations, Superintendents and Lead Foremen to build a safety culture across all job sites.

Key responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to reduce workplace injuries and accidents, and participate in field audits and inspections
• Coach field personnel on safety findings and best practices, and review projects for safety compliance
• Provide guidance on health, safety and environmental protection, and inspect and replace safety equipment as needed
• Draft reports, data analysis and presentations on risks and exposures; maintain safety and security policies and oversee incident, near-miss and corrective action reporting
• Collaborate with customers during audits, deliver safety bulletins, documentation and training, and conduct incident investigations
• Prepare safety plans, toolbox talks and policies, report auto and workers' compensation incidents to the third-party administrator, and run new-hire safety orientation

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years of field safety experience
• At least 3 years of experience and knowledge in electrical construction
• Extensive knowledge of OSHA construction standards and electrical safety practices
• Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification, or willingness to obtain it within one year
• Valid driver's license with a clean record, and ability to travel between office and field locations
