Data Center Project Manager - AI Infrastructure

About the role

A rapidly growing AI infrastructure company is looking for an experienced Data Center Project Manager to join its project delivery team. The role covers large-scale AI compute infrastructure projects across the United States, taking ownership from early planning and design coordination through construction, commissioning and operational handover. The position is based in Austin with nationwide, project-dependent travel.

Key responsibilities

• Lead data center projects from pre-construction through commissioning and handover
• Manage project schedules, budgets, risks, change orders and delivery milestones
• Coordinate General Contractors, subcontractors, consultants and vendors
• Drive design coordination across electrical, mechanical, controls and infrastructure packages
• Monitor construction progress and resolve project-level issues
• Lead project meetings and communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders
• Track procurement, long-lead equipment and critical dependencies
• Coordinate commissioning and operational readiness
• Identify risks early and develop mitigation strategies
• Maintain high standards for safety, quality, schedule and cost

Required profile

• 5+ years of project management experience
• Proven experience delivering hyperscale or large-scale data center projects
• Background with a General Contractor, Developer, Owner's Representative or Data Center Operator
• Experience managing projects through construction and commissioning
• Comfortable managing multiple contractors and technical stakeholders
• Willingness to travel or relocate depending on project needs

Required skills

• Strong understanding of MEP systems and data center infrastructure
• Project scheduling, budgeting and change management
• Tools such as Procore, Primavera P6, Bluebeam or similar
