Safety Service and Motorist Assistance Patroller Supervisor

About the role

The Safety Service and Motorist Assistance Patroller Supervisor leads a team of patrollers who respond to incidents and provide motorist assistance on the Dulles Toll Road. The position reports to the Dulles Police Command and oversees the Safety Service Program operations.

Key responsibilities

• Establish, revise, and enforce procedures for safety service operations and plan work assignments.
• Supervise personnel selection, performance evaluation, training, time‑and‑attendance approval, and disciplinary actions.
• Prepare recurring and special reports, briefings, and ensure preventive maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• When required, personally patrol the toll road, assess hazards, mitigate incidents, provide first aid/CPR, and assist disabled motorists with emergency‑level services.

Required profile

• Four years of progressively responsible experience in vehicle repair and maintenance.
• Knowledge of supervisory principles and ability to manage a team.
• Ability to work under pressure, provide customer service in emergencies, and follow safety regulations.
• Valid state driver’s license and ability to obtain a security background investigation.

Required skills

• Automobile mechanics and minor vehicle emergency repairs.
• Radio communications terminology and equipment operation.
• Computer proficiency with modern office‑suite software.
• First aid and CPR certification (Red Cross).
