Robot Software Engineer Internship

About the role

Join Rhoda AI as a Robot Software Engineer Intern and work on the core software that powers our next‑generation generalist robots. You will contribute to real projects on the robot platform stack and see your code run on physical robots by the end of the internship.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain networking and communication infrastructure linking onboard robot systems, the cloud, and teleoperation/monitoring tools.
• Build data collection pipelines that capture sensor, telemetry, and behavioral data and reliably upload it to cloud storage for model training.
• Implement telemetry and observability systems to provide real‑time visibility into robot health and field performance.
• Create internal tooling such as deployment pipelines, logging, debugging tools, and field‑testing utilities.
• Support hardware bring‑up, field testing, and debugging across the onboard software stack.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and networking.
• Passion for robotics demonstrated through coursework, projects, competitions, or prior internships.
• Comfort working with physical hardware in a fast‑moving, ambiguous environment.

Required skills

• Programming languages: C++, Python, Golang, Rust.
• Experience with networking and communication protocols (e.g., gRPC, DDS, QUIC, WebSockets).
• Familiarity with cloud storage and data pipelines (AWS, GCP, S3, GCS).
