Robot Perception Engineer

About the role

Rhoda AI is developing next‑generation generalist humanoid robots and needs a Robot Perception Engineer to build the software that turns raw sensor data into a real‑time understanding of the world. You will own the perception stack that powers safe operation, tele‑operation, and AI‑driven policies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain real‑time perception pipelines, integrating and calibrating cameras, LiDAR, IMUs and depth sensors on humanoid platforms.
• Build and optimise object detection, tracking and scene‑understanding systems for complex, unstructured environments.
• Own streaming infrastructure that reliably delivers sensor data to foundation models, tele‑operation systems and onboard control stacks.
• Collaborate with the AI/ML team to ensure low‑latency, high‑reliability data flow from perception to policy inputs.
• Implement safety‑certified perception components, including collision‑avoidance and object‑detection, for real‑world deployment.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in robotics perception, computer vision or a closely related field.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals with hands‑on experience in C++, Python or Rust.
• Proven ability to debug across the full stack, from sensor drivers to live perception behaviour on hardware.
• Experience building real‑time pipelines on embedded or edge compute platforms.
