RN Unit Manager – Long Term Care

About the role

The RN Unit Manager leads nursing staff to ensure high‑quality resident care in a long‑term care setting. This 24‑hour leadership position balances clinical responsibilities with operational management.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain appropriate nursing staffing levels and oversee scheduling, attendance, and disciplinary actions.
• Coordinate shift assignments, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with departmental policies.
• Communicate resident conditions and needs during shift changes and with ancillary departments.
• Participate in quality‑improvement initiatives, case management, and resident admission assessments.
• Respond to resident, family, and staff concerns promptly and investigate any allegations of abuse or neglect.
• Manage unit resources, documentation, and financial aspects to support accurate reimbursement.

Required profile

• Current RN license in Maryland (or state where the center is located).
• Minimum of a nursing degree from an accredited program.
• At least 5 years of long‑term care experience.
• Previous supervisory or management experience.
• Current CPR certification.
