RN Surgical PCU Nights - Sign-On Bonus

About the role

AdventHealth Altamonte Springs is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for its Surgical PCU, working nights from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am with weekend rotation. The schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts per week. The position offers a sign-on bonus of $10,000 for night shifts, and relocation assistance is available for candidates moving more than 50 miles from the facility.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual and lifestyle factors.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans, reviewing and revising them regularly.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about their conditions, treatments, medications and self-care strategies.
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions and outcomes.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) license (required).
• Associate's degree in Nursing (required).
• At least 1 year of experience in an acute care hospital setting.
• Fluent English (reading, speaking and writing).
• Ability to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patients, evaluate interventions and revise the plan of care.

Required skills

• Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures.
• EKG competency.
• Basic computer skills, including navigating Microsoft Windows-based programs.
• Teamwork, organizational and multi-tasking skills, and clear verbal and written communication.
