Registered Nurse, Emergency Department Nights

About the role

AdventHealth Altamonte Springs is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for its emergency department, working nights from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am with weekend rotation. The position is paid between $34.32 and $63.84.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients covering physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual and lifestyle factors.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans, reviewing and revising them regularly.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about their conditions, treatments, medications and self-care strategies.
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care.

Required profile

• Associate of Science degree in Nursing.
• Current Florida or multistate Registered Nurse license.
• At least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse; emergency room experience preferred.
• Fluent English (reading, speaking and writing).
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications.

Required skills

• Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures.
• Ability to work as a team player within a unit.
• Effective verbal and oral communication and problem-solving skills.
• High-level abstract reasoning to assess patients, evaluate interventions and revise care plans.
• Basic computer skills, including navigating Microsoft Windows-based programs.
• EKG competency.
