Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Training Nights

About the role

AdventHealth Altamonte Springs is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for its medical surgical unit, working nights from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am with weekend rotation. The unit has a supportive, collaborative team culture, close partnerships with providers, case management and therapy teams, and a dedicated on-unit nursing practice development practitioner offering education, training, support and mentoring. The unit runs at a 5-6 nurse-to-patient ratio with RNs and LPNs, supported by PCTs and nurse technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual and lifestyle factors.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans, reviewing and revising them regularly.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about their conditions, treatments, medications and self-care strategies.
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions and outcomes.

Required profile

• Associate of Science degree in Nursing.
• Current Florida or multistate Registered Nurse licensure.
• At least six months of prior Registered Nurse experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
