RN Supervisor & Operations Coordinator – Emergency Room (Night Shift)

About the role

The Emergency Department at Ochsner Baton Rouge is seeking a dedicated RN Supervisor and Operations Coordinator to lead night‑shift patient care. This role combines direct clinical supervision with operational oversight to ensure high‑quality, efficient emergency services.

Key responsibilities

• Treat critical injuries, allergic reactions, and trauma while quickly assessing patient needs.
• Organize, plan, supervise, and coordinate patient care within the unit.
• Supervise, develop, and evaluate assigned nurses and patient care technicians.
• Promote adoption of nursing protocols and evidence‑based practice guidelines.
• Manage shift conflicts and collaborate with unit leadership when further action is required.
• Partner with quality, safety, and patient experience teams to advance departmental initiatives.
• Ensure effective scheduling, staffing, and availability of clinical supplies for night‑shift operations.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN required for Ochsner Magnet facilities.
• At least 1 year of RN experience in acute care or 2 years of LPN experience.
• Current RN license in the state of practice and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to work under high pressure, maintain attention to detail, and manage multiple priorities.
