About the role

The RN Supervisor provides direct patient care while leading a team of nurses and technicians on a MedSurg/Orthopedic unit during the day shift. This position combines clinical expertise with supervisory responsibilities to ensure high‑quality, safe patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Administer medications, start IVs, and coordinate patient discharges with the healthcare team.
  • Organize, plan, and supervise coordinated patient care within the unit.
  • Develop, evaluate, and mentor assigned nursing staff and patient care technicians.
  • Promote evidence‑based nursing protocols and resolve conflicts on the shift.
  • Collaborate with quality, safety, and experience leadership to enhance patient care processes.

Required profile

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school; BSN required for Ochsner Magnet facilities.
  • Current RN license in the state of practice and Basic Life Support certification.
  • At least 1 year of RN experience (or 2 years LPN experience) in an acute‑care setting.

Required skills

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
