RN PCU StaffFlex Contract - Night Shift, 36 hrs/wk

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a Registered Nurse for its PCU StaffFlex contract program, working nights at Lenexa City Center (Kansas). The schedule is 36 hours per week at $63 per hour plus night differential, with flexible contract assignments at one facility or floating across hospitals in 9 states. Key responsibilities

• Assess patients, analyze assessment data and develop individualized, evidence-based plans of care aligned with interdisciplinary goals
• Implement interventions safely and document them, and collect and document patient health data systematically and timely
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, following protocols
• Collaborate on patient admission, discharge and transfer, and promote timely patient placement
• Educate patients and families on conditions, procedures and care plans
• Participate in peer interviewing and peer review, and contribute to quality, safety and effectiveness initiatives
• Serve as a patient advocate and ensure safe handoff communication and documentation
• Follow CDC isolation guidelines, use PPE correctly, perform hand hygiene and enforce safety regulations

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN)
• Associate's degree in Nursing (Bachelor's preferred)
• 2+ years of nursing experience in an acute hospital setting
• Fluent English (reading, speaking and writing)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS, NIHSS and Trauma Nurse Course Certified (TNCC) preferred
• Additional licensure or certification may apply depending on unit or state

Required skills

• High-level abstract reasoning to assess patients, evaluate interventions and revise plans of care
• Basic computer skills, including navigating Microsoft Windows programs
