RN Neuro ICU - Nights (StaffFlex Contract)

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a registered nurse for its Neuro ICU, working nights on a PRN basis under a StaffFlex contract. The schedule is 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., three 12-hour shifts per week, with open availability all week. The pay range is $15.00 to $130.00.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients thoroughly and continuously, analyze assessment data and develop individualized, evidence-based plans of care aligned with interdisciplinary goals.
• Implement interventions from the plan of care safely and document actions taken.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, following protocols and ensuring patient safety.
• Collaborate with physicians and staff, follow hospital policy for admission, discharge and transfer, and promote timely patient placement.
• Take part in peer interviewing and peer review processes as needed.
• Educate patients and families on their conditions, procedures and care plans.
• Advocate for patients, ensure compliance with regulatory standards and use of medical supplies and equipment.
• Ensure safe handoff communication and documentation, and follow CDC isolation guidelines and PPE requirements.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN).
• 2+ years of nursing experience in an acute hospital setting.
• 2 years of current or recent ICU experience required.
• Associate's degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Fluent in English (reading, speaking and writing).
• BLS/CPR certification required; TNCC certification preferred.
• Additional licensure or certification requirements may apply depending on the unit or state.

Required skills

• High-level abstract reasoning to assess patients, evaluate interventions and revise the plan of care.
• Basic computer skills, including navigating Microsoft Windows programs.
