RN Neuro ICU - Day Shift (StaffFlex Contract)

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a Registered Nurse for its Neuro ICU, working day shifts (7a-7p) on a 3/12 schedule with open availability all week. The position is advertised as a StaffFlex contract at $77 per hour, with a stated pay range of $15-$130.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients thoroughly and continuously, analyze assessment data and develop individualized, evidence-based plans of care aligned with interdisciplinary goals.
• Implement interventions safely and timely, document actions, and collect and record patient health data systematically.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, following protocols and ensuring patient safety.
• Collaborate with physicians and staff, follow hospital policy for admission, discharge and transfer, and promote timely patient placement.
• Educate patients and families on their conditions, procedures and care plans.
• Participate in peer interviewing and peer review, and contribute to quality, safety and effectiveness initiatives.
• Act as a patient advocate, ensure safe handoffs, and follow CDC isolation guidelines and PPE use.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) license; additional licensure or certification may depend on the unit or state.
• 2+ years of nursing experience in an acute hospital setting, including 2 years of current or recent ICU experience.
• Associate's degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Fluent English (reading, speaking and writing).
• BLS/CPR certification required; TNCC certification preferred.

Required skills

• High-level abstract reasoning to assess patients, evaluate interventions and revise care plans.
• Basic computer skills, including navigating Microsoft Windows programs.
