Risk Control Consultant

About the role

Brown & Brown is looking for a proactive Risk Control Consultant to join its Lafayette, LA team. Reporting to the Director of Claims, you will deliver risk control consulting, inspections, and training services to a portfolio of Property & Casualty clients.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement Risk Control Service Plans (RCSPs) for assigned clients.
• Maintain frequent, high‑quality touch points with clients to execute RCSPs.
• Manage loss components of profit‑sharing arrangements with agency and carrier partners.
• Collaborate with the Claims Department to identify and address loss trends.
• Assist P&C producers in generating at least 20% of their top‑line revenue year over year.
• Conduct prospective calls on accounts generating $20,000+ in income.
• Perform exposure risk assessments, identify coverage gaps, and develop client narratives.
• Qualify prospects for direct pursuit or referral to the production team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Occupational Safety, Finance/Insurance, or a related field.
• 5‑10 years of experience in a similar risk control or insurance role.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance License.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the MS Office Suite.
