Rice Mill Operator

About the role

The Rice Mill Operator safely runs the rice milling process from paddy reception through whitening, sorting and finished rice handling. The role focuses on achieving target yield, quality and throughput while ensuring food safety and minimizing downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Follow all plant and safety policies, including risk assessments, lock‑out/tag‑out, hot work permits and PPE requirements.
• Communicate process changes and job knowledge to team members via daily meetings, emails, shift handovers and work orders.
• Use PC tools (MS Office, Excel, Word, SAP, Wonderware) and HMI to monitor and control daily operations.
• Participate in plant optimization programs, safety initiatives and personal development plans.
• Perform sanitation tasks with compressed air and routine preventive maintenance on equipment.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED required; experience in production, rice milling or food processing preferred.
• Self‑directed work ethic with ability to work without direct supervision.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb and work in dusty environments with proper PPE.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Experience using SAP and Wonderware plant control systems.
• Ability to operate HMI for process monitoring and control.
