Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Specialist

About the role

ABB is looking for an HSE Specialist to report to the HSE Manager and improve Health, Safety and Environment performance in the assigned area. The role is onsite at the Jonesboro, Arkansas manufacturing facility and focuses on risk management and HSE excellence along the ABB value chain.

Key responsibilities

• Report HSE incidents to management and relevant stakeholders and take appropriate action
• Facilitate, assist and guide incident investigations to find better ways to mitigate risks
• Give feedback to management and employees on lessons learned and best practices from the unit and across ABB
• Support behavioral change by implementing group-wide and business-specific performance improvement programs locally

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Health, Safety or Environment with 2+ years of experience, or Associate degree with 4+ years, or HS diploma/GED with 6+ years of HSE experience
• Proven track record in a manufacturing environment as a member of an HSE (or equivalent) team
• Authorization to work for ABB in the US

Required skills

• Knowledge of regulatory compliance, including local HSE regulations and widely used international standards
• Prior manufacturing experience is required
• Electrical safety program implementation knowledge is a plus; change management experience is a plus
• Certifications such as CHST, OHST, ASP or CSP are a plus
