Maintenance Electrician (1st Shift)

About the role

ABB's Installation Products Division (formerly Thomas & Betts) is hiring a Maintenance Electrician for its Jonesboro, Arkansas site. The position reports to the Production Supervisor and is onsite, working 10-hour shifts Monday to Thursday with overtime as needed to meet customer demand. It is a safety-sensitive position under the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment of 2016.

Key responsibilities

• Install electrical wiring and conduit for new machines and equipment such as robots, conveyors and programmable controllers.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors and lighting fixtures.
• Repair faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
• Repair faulty mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
• Plan wiring layouts and install wiring, conduit and electrical apparatus in the building.
• Weld and fabricate.
• Apply knowledge of boilers and chillers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 4 years of mechanical experience and/or a state license, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• One-year certificate from college or technical school and/or a state license.
• Work authorization to work for ABB in the U.S.; no sponsorship offered.
• Safety-conscious, 5S-driven, produces high-quality work and meets production goals.
