Restorative Justice Coordinator – Wilkes RYDC

About the role

The Restorative Justice Coordinator will lead the implementation and oversight of restorative justice practices within a secure juvenile justice facility in Washington, GA. This position works closely with facility leadership, case managers, security, and behavioral health staff to embed restorative principles into the facility’s culture and disciplinary processes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage restorative justice programs tailored to youth in secure confinement.
• Facilitate restorative circles, victim‑offender dialogues, and conflict‑resolution sessions.
• Provide training and coaching to facility staff on restorative justice, trauma‑informed care, and conflict de‑escalation.
• Maintain detailed records, collect and analyze data, and prepare reports for facility and division leadership.
• Support the re‑entry process by helping youth make amends and rebuild relationships with victims, families, and communities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience at the lower‑level Social Services Program Coordinator level.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s (or Master’s) in criminal justice, social work, psychology, or related field; 2+ years in restorative or juvenile justice settings.
• Understanding of trauma‑informed approaches, adolescent development, and youth behavioral health.
• Ability to work within the security protocols of a juvenile justice facility.
