Restaurant Server - AM Shift

About the role

Sheraton Reston Hotel in Reston, Virginia, is hiring an AM shift restaurant server. The server serves food and beverage to guests courteously and in line with the hotel's brand and sustainability standards, with a growth path to supervisor, banquet server, captain, restaurant manager or banquet manager.

Key responsibilities

• Serve food and beverage to guests in a courteous and friendly manner.
• Take and enter food and beverage orders into the point of service system.
• Ensure overall guest satisfaction and monitor guest satisfaction scores.
• Set and clear tables in dining areas and stock service stations with items such as ice, napkins and straws.
• Pick up orders from food preparation areas and prepare guest checks, including payment transactions where appropriate.
• Help with bartending and bussing during staffing shortages or peak periods.
• Follow sustainability guidelines under the HHM EarthView program and safe work practices (OSHA, MSDS).

Required profile

• Previous food and beverage experience required, or equivalent training.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to stand for long periods, walk, lift up to 25 pounds and bend and reach; schedule may include holidays, weekends and alternate shifts.

Required skills

• Knowledge of POS systems.
• TIPS certification preferred.
