Respiratory Therapist

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a full-time Respiratory Therapist in Celebration, Florida, working day shifts (3 x 12-hour shifts, 7am-7pm). The role covers respiratory and oxygen delivery therapies, airway management and mechanical ventilation, with a sign-on bonus of $15,000 and a relocation bonus of $5,000 for eligible applicants.

Key responsibilities

• Document and charge procedures accurately and completely, and assist with patient flow through teamwork.
• Perform respiratory and oxygen delivery therapies and recommend the most efficient delivery method per protocol.
• Analyze arterial blood gas and co-oximetry results, perform quality controls, and report findings to help determine treatment plans with the interdisciplinary team.
• Maintain the airway using manual resuscitators, oral and nasal pharyngeal airways and suctioning, and respond immediately to Code Blue emergencies with CPR per the American Heart Association.
• Initiate, maintain, transport and monitor mechanical ventilators, including basic conventional modes, and adjust therapy based on patient assessment, chart review and multidisciplinary input.
• Follow standard precautions and hospital safety policies, and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science (required).
• 1+ years of critical care experience preferred.
• State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification (required).
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification (required).
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification (required).
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (required).
• Ability to care for neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
