Residential Life Coordinator

About the role

The University of Miami is seeking a Residential Life Coordinator to live on‑site and oversee the daily operations of one of its student housing communities. Reporting to the Senior Area Director, the coordinator will support the educational experience of residents and supervise student staff.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, select, train and co‑supervise up to 22 Resident Assistants and other student staff.
• Manage day‑to‑day conduct, conflict resolution, and crisis response within the residential area.
• Serve as a conduct hearing officer and provide counseling and disciplinary guidance to students.
• Plan and implement co‑curricular programs, large‑scale events, academic and wellness initiatives in partnership with Student Life, the Dean of Students Office, and other campus units.
• Coordinate with Facilities & Operations and ABM on building issues and maintenance.
• Assist with opening and closing of residence buildings each academic year and oversee budget compliance.
• Maintain visibility with individual students, promote inclusive community environments, and develop leadership opportunities.

Required profile

• Entry‑level administrative experience or related student‑affairs background.
• Ability to live on‑site and work nights and weekends as needed.
• Strong interpersonal and conflict‑resolution skills.
• Experience supervising student employees is preferred.
