Residential Engagement Assistant

About the role

Our House of Portland, a program of CAP Northwest, is hiring a part-time (0.8 FTE) Resident Engagement Assistant. The role supports resident engagement by implementing activity plans and carrying out activities for residents of the 14-room residential care facility, helping their physical, mental and psychosocial well-being while working with an interdisciplinary team. The shift is Sunday to Wednesday, 9:30am to 6:00pm.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct, person-centered activity services individually and in groups
• Provide direct transportation services to meet residents' needs and interests
• Set up activities and organize the supplies needed for each one
• Maintain documentation of services provided
• Keep a high degree of confidentiality and follow HIPAA privacy requirements
• Be available for some evenings or flex days when special events require them, with advance notice

Required profile

• CPR certification or the ability to become certified
• Food handlers' card or the ability to obtain one
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and basic computer skills
• Willingness to work with people living with HIV/AIDS, and with people facing physical, emotional or chemical dependency challenges

What we offer

• Pay starting at $24.28 per hour, rising with tenure to $28.27; a weekend differential of $1.00
