Part-Time Caregiver (Evening Shift)

About the role

The Our House Residential Care Facility, a 14-room program of Cascade AIDS Project (CAP) Northwest, is hiring a skilled, team-oriented Caregiver for its SE Portland location. The role works within an interdisciplinary team approach, supporting residents who live with HIV and need help with daily living, under the direction of the service plan and the licensed nurse in charge of the floor. It is a part-time 0.7 FTE evening swing shift.

Key responsibilities

• Provide residents' Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as directed by the service plan and the on-duty licensed nurse, including dietary and environmental assistance as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of ADLs provided or omitted in each resident's electronic record.
• Provide direct resident care while promoting their dignity, independence and choice.
• Attend all staff meetings and in-services; staff must complete 12 in-service hours per year.
• Keep the facility neat and clean, including common living spaces and individual resident areas.
• Interact respectfully with residents, staff, volunteers and visitors in line with the workplace mission.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of home care or caregiving experience, or satisfactory completion of onsite training at Our House.
• Ability to pass the DHS background check (Potential Disqualifying Conviction List).
• First Aid, CPR and food handler certification within the first 30 days of hire.
• Basic computer skills.
• Motivation to work with people living with HIV/AIDS who require all levels of care.

What we offer

• Starting pay of $23.17 per hour, plus a $1.00 per hour differential for the evening shift; pay rises with tenure to a maximum of $27.16.
