Research Member of Technical Staff – Video Generation Modeling

About the role

Rhoda AI is seeking a Research Member of Technical Staff to advance large‑scale video generation modeling for robot control. You will lead the design and training of causal video models on web‑scale data and translate research breakthroughs into functional robot systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and train large‑scale causal video generation models on internet‑scale video datasets.
• Develop and evaluate training objectives, model architectures, and data mixtures for video prediction at scale.
• Research scaling laws, data efficiency, and transfer properties from web video to robotic action prediction.
• Build systematic evaluations for video quality, long‑horizon prediction fidelity, and downstream robot task performance.
• Collaborate with data, evaluation, post‑training, and training systems teams to deploy research ideas.
• Publish and present findings at top‑tier ML and robotics conferences.

Required profile

• Strong background in large‑scale generative modeling, especially video generation or large language model pretraining.
• Hands‑on experience training large generative models from scratch at scale.
• Deep understanding of autoregressive and causal architectures and their scaling behavior.
• Ability to design experiments, interpret results, and iterate quickly in a fast‑moving startup environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with modern ML frameworks, especially PyTorch (JAX a plus).
• Experience with autoregressive modeling, causal video architectures, and diffusion transformers.
• Familiarity with distributed training and multi‑node infrastructure.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
