Research Engineer II – Nanofabrication

About the role
The Research Engineer II will support AggieFab, the core nanofabrication cleanroom at Texas A&M University. Working under the AggieFab Laboratory Manager, the role focuses on managing nanofabrication tools and developing processes for academic and industrial research projects.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and optimize process recipes for a wide range of nanofabrication tools.
- Operate and maintain equipment such as electron beam lithography, photolithography, thin‑film deposition (PVD, CVD, ALD), 3D printing, wafer bonding, reactive ion etching (ICP‑RIE, DRIE), metrology, and dual‑beam FIB.
- Execute staff runs for customers and generate detailed process reports.
- Establish standard operating procedures and training documentation.
- Participate in MEMS and BioMEMS research projects for TAMU investigators and external partners.
Required profile
- Proven ability to develop suitable recipes for nanofabrication processes.
- Experience executing staff runs for academic and industrial customers.
- Capability to prepare detailed technical reports.
- Familiarity with general wafer fab operations is a plus.
