Research Engineer – Accelerated Materials Discovery

About the role
Bosch Corporate Research is looking for a Research Engineer to drive applied research in computational materials science at the atomistic level. You will help shape next‑generation Bosch products by leveraging advanced simulation and AI techniques.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct atomistic and mesoscale simulations to understand thermodynamic, kinetic and transport phenomena.
- Perform classical and quantum‑mechanical electronic structure calculations.
- Apply machine‑learning and AI methods to accelerate material screening and quantitative modeling.
- Collaborate closely with product development teams and experimental groups to integrate simulation insights into engineering cycles.
- Document findings and contribute to scientific publications and internal reports.
Required profile
- Strong interest in linking computational research with real‑world product development.
- Ability to work in interdisciplinary, cross‑functional teams.
- Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry or a related discipline.
