About the role
The Department of Pathology at the University of Miami is seeking a full‑time Research Associate II to support cutting‑edge AIDS research using adeno‑associated virus vectors. The role involves hands‑on laboratory work under the supervision of a research assistant professor.
Key responsibilities
- Perform specialized and complex experiments, including ELISA assays to quantify circulating antibody levels.
- Construct and purify cloned plasmid DNA for vector production.
- Purify proteins and conduct virus neutralization assays.
- Collect, prepare, dissect, and evaluate tissue cultures and specimens.
- Weigh and anesthetize laboratory animals for in‑vivo experiments.
- Operate sensitive and highly complex laboratory equipment.
- Perform calculations and data analysis to complete research test results.
- Conduct photography and dark‑room processing of experimental samples.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant laboratory experience.
- Strong ability to collect, organize, and analyze data.
- Proven problem‑solving skills and sound judgment for critical decisions.
