Research Associate I – Dermatology Lab

About the role

The University of Miami UHealth Department of Dermatology is seeking a full‑time Research Associate I to support laboratory research projects. This entry‑level position offers the opportunity to develop hands‑on expertise in skin biology, wound‑healing models, and molecular techniques while contributing to high‑impact scientific publications.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and follow research protocols and standard operating procedures.
• Conduct laboratory experiments, including tissue culture, specimen preparation, and assay execution.
• Operate and maintain core laboratory equipment and small‑animal facilities.
• Perform cell‑biology assays such as PCR, immunohistochemistry, and western blot analysis.
• Maintain mouse colonies and conduct wound‑healing studies using small‑animal models.
• Collect, analyze, and statistically evaluate experimental data.
• Document results, ensure compliance with good research practice, and assist in manuscript preparation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise protocols.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
